Atlas Edge Sailing Instrument – Vakaros

The Vakaros Atlas Edge is a powerful racing instrument for dinghy and small boat sailors, at a friendlier price than the Atlas 2. It gives you the core race data that matters on the water in a simple, rugged unit built to take a hammering.

It shares the Atlas 2 hardware where it counts: the same 25 Hz dual band L1 + L5 GNSS receiver, the same magnetic compass and motion sensors, the same sunlight readable 4.4" display and 100+ hour battery. What it leaves out is distance to line, the backlight and external sensor support, which keeps it focused and affordable.

On the water you get heading, speed over ground, heel, pitch, VMG, a countdown timer, shift tracking and a stripchart view, with full data logging at up to 10 Hz. That makes it a serious training and racing tool: run practice starts, track your shifts and headers, then review every session ashore to see exactly where the gains are. It charges wirelessly on any Qi pad (charger not included), comes with a mount and carrying case, and carries a two year warranty.

A note on the rules: because the Edge uses GPS, it is not legal for racing in classes that prohibit GPS or electronic instruments. Always check your current class rules before racing. For training, coaching and any class that permits it, the Edge is the easiest way into the Vakaros and RaceSense ecosystem.
