DyCore Plus 2 mm – V.elo

V.elo DyCore Plus is a coated single-braid Dyneema® SK78 line built for minimal stretch in spliced, constant-load systems. At 2 mm it is the line for primaries, loops, lashings and fine purchase systems, where precision matters more than grip. Sold per meter.

The braid runs at a more vertical angle than DyCore Compact. That cuts stretch even further and makes the line easy to splice. The trade-off is less grip and less abrasion resistance, so V.elo does not recommend it for complex systems with a lot of friction. Where a line has to hold in a cleat or rub over hardware, choose DyCore Compact.

On a dinghy, think the spliced primaries of the ILCA vang and outhaul, or the Optimist halyard, traveller and outhaul. It is also a neat, light choice for soft loops and lashings around the boat. DyCore Plus is also available in 3 mm.
