Description
The A731705-E is a stainless steel carbine hook, the spring gate snap hook you clip onto a strop, a soft loop or a webbing tail when you want a quick, secure connection you can release by hand. Squeeze the gate, clip on, let go and it locks. The eye at the base keeps one line captive on the hook so it cannot wander. On the ILCA this is used on the lower vang unit to clip on your cunningham.
It takes line up to 7.5 mm through the eye and holds a 220 kg breaking load, 110 kg for working use. The gate opens 8 mm, the body is 50 mm long and 26 mm wide, and it weighs 21 g.
Useful for kicker and outhaul tails, boom tie-downs, cover fixings and a hundred other jobs around the boat and the trailer.
