DyTech 4 mm – V.elo

V.elo DyTech 4 mm is a control line with over a tonne of breaking load: 1038 kgf from a 4 mm line. A coated Dyneema® SK78 core carries the load with minimal stretch, and a 16-plait cover of Technora® and polyester grips in the cleat and stands up to heat and friction. Sold per meter.

We stock it in three colours, one for each ILCA control: orange for the cunningham, bright blue for the vang and green for the outhaul. Mid-race, you grab the right line without looking twice.

The cover is half Technora®, for abrasion and heat resistance in cleats and blocks, and half polyester, for colour and a comfortable feel in the hand. It does not flatten in cam cleats and clutches, so it keeps holding and releasing cleanly.

Use it for the secondary lines of the ILCA cunningham, vang and outhaul, and for control lines on other dinghies and skiffs where a 4 mm line suits the cleats and blocks.

Why V.elo

V.elo builds its ropes in southern Brazil, in the first factory in Latin America dedicated entirely to nautical rope, and is the only rope maker on the continent licensed by Avient to work with Dyneema®. V.elo lines were on board Brazil's ILCA and Nacra 17 boats at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
