ILCA Curved Kicker Key – Allen

The vang key is the small stainless part that carries your whole kicker load into the boom bracket, and the curved version is the one most ILCA sailors end up running. The bend lets it drop into the bracket without fighting the angle, which you appreciate when you are rigging in a hurry on a windy morning.

Allen builds this one with a heavier gauge top plate than the older straight SA.312 pattern. That plate is where a worn key starts to open up, so the extra material is worth having on a part that tends to fail without warning.

It pairs directly with the Allen A4413 kicking strap bracket on the boom, and it is the same key machined into Allen's 30 mm extreme high load vang block. If your current key is showing wear at the throat, replace it before it lets go mid race. Allen lists this as an ILCA fitting, so check your current class rules before championship use.
