Description

This is the clip that stops your rudder lifting out of the gudgeons when you go over. It screws to the transom above the rudder head, and the angle pressed into the metal is what holds the head down.

Stainless steel with a plastic end cap, so there is no raw edge to catch a mainsheet or a hand on the way past. If yours has lost its grip you can usually bend it back to tension rather than replacing it, but once the metal has been worked a few times it is worth fitting a new one before a windy event.

Fixing holes are 4 mm and screws are not included. Bed it on Sikaflex or similar when you refit, since the fixings pass straight through the transom.
