Introducing the LWS athlete program
At LiveWatersports, we have always believed that life feels better on the water. Not just because of the products we sell, but because of the people, the stories, the effort, and the ambition that make this sport what it is.
Today, we are proud to share the first step in something we have been building with care: the LWS Athlete Program. And it starts close to home.
The first athlete in the program is Lenno Leefmans, sailor, competitor, and co-founder of LiveWatersports.

Built by sailors, for sailors
The LWS Athlete Program is about more than results.
It is about supporting sailors who live the sport, who put in the hours, who want to improve, and who inspire others around them to get on the water and keep pushing.
With this program, we want to support athletes in a way that stays true to who we are as a brand:
- close to the sailing community
- focused on progression and performance
- authentic in the stories we tell
- always connected to the next generation of sailors
Lenno is the perfect starting point for that journey.
As co-founder of LiveWatersports, he has been part of the brand from day one. But above all, he is a sailor with ambition, discipline, and a real love for the sport. The Athlete Program gives us a way to share that journey more openly, from training days and regattas to gear choices, lessons learned, and the reality behind performance on the water.
What the LWS Athlete Program stands for
The LWS Athlete Program is designed to support athletes and strengthen the sailing community around them.
That means:
- supporting athletes in their training and racing journey
- sharing real stories from the water
- highlighting the gear, setup, and details behind performance
- creating content that inspires and helps other sailors
- building stronger connections across clubs, classes, and countries
This is not just about sponsoring sailors. It is about building a platform around people who represent the spirit of the sport in the right way.
We want to work with athletes who race hard, stay humble, and help grow the community around them.
The first face of the LWS Athlete Program
Through Lenno’s journey, we will share more of what goes into sailing at a high level: preparation, travel, training, setbacks, focus, and the small details that matter. You will also see more behind the scenes from the gear and setup choices that support him on the water.
This is only the beginning.
Soon, the LWS Athlete Program will welcome more athletes from the Netherlands and Belgium, and later this year we aim to expand further across Europe.
Until then, we support the community
Even as the athlete roster grows step by step, our mission stays the same.
We are here to support the sailing community.
From young sailors getting ready for their first event, to families travelling across Europe, to ambitious racers looking for the right gear and the right mindset, we want LiveWatersports to be part of that journey.
That is why the Athlete Program is not only about the sailors we support directly. It is also about bringing the wider community along for the ride.
